When is the last time you were really outside your comfort? Really felt like you were in an uneasy situation? Can you remember that exhilaration and all your nerves feeling like they were on high alert?
Comfort zones are derived from a conglomeration of our life experiences and knowledge that we have accumulated. Obviously, this grows more and more each day. And that is why the practice of stepping outside our comfort zone is so important, it is the old use it or lose it deal. The act of stepping outside your comfort zone can be deliberate or unexpected, and either way brings about the same result. It brings you completely and wholly into living in the moment.
That is the beauty and value of stepping out of your comfort zone – yes, there is value in it. It is a good exercise to practice stepping outside your comfort zone. You will never be totally comfortable with it, but you will get better at it, and maybe even begin to look forward to it. When you cross that line, you are growing – growing by leaps and bounds.
You see that is the value of it, to grow. Just as there are three main types of goals, and the goal of a goal is to grow.
